Tours

While facts and figures always play a role in presenting the historical framework of a place, we strive to keep it light; accurate but not boring. After all, Lunenburg’s history is filled with such great stories!

There are plenty of hills here but our routes are selected to minimize steep rises and are always at a gentle stroll pace, suitable for most folks with average mobility. We go, rain or shine, unless there is fear of drowning in the deluge!

We have tried to keep our tours affordable for most folks - $15 per person (cash only please). If you think the tour was great, tips, Likes on Facebook, and recommendations on travel sites are appreciated.

We do not require reservations but it sure is nice to know someone is coming along. Call, text, BB message or email!

History Around Every Corner

A good measure of history on a stroll that focuses on architecture and significant buildings, with lots of stories included. Depending on time and availability, we visit St John’s Anglican Church, Zion Lutheran Church, and the Lunenburg Academy. Approximately one hour.

Lantern Tales

Still lots of historical perspective but with an ear to the superstitions and ghost stories that abound in this area. Throw in a little murder and mayhem plus visits to St John’s Church, Lunenburg Academy, and Hillcrest Cemetery and you may not be able to sleep tonight! Approximately 90 minutes.

Working Waterfront Walk

Our waterfront and its wharves are our highway to the world. Stroll along a route that takes you into the stories that can’t be seen from the street. Our path includes the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic wharves, Fishermen’s Wharf, Fishermen’s monument, Zwicker property, barque Picton Castle berth, Dory Shop, Twin Schooner project, Shipyard Alliance, Bluenose II restoration (with exclusive stories), Ironworks Distillery (yes they provide samples!), and much more. Approximately 90 minutes.
